About Me

My name is Jenny Grotherus, aka Kottens, and I’m 37 years old. I live in a house on the countryside with my husband Johan, son Joel and our cat Osiris. I run my own business, a consultant firm within Business Intelligence. I’ve been in the BI area for ten years and counting.

Traveling is my life and a backpacker on the central station makes me happy for a week, but otherwise I’m in to really good food and wine.

I’m a creative person who likes to create things, regardless if it’s about scrapbooking, sewing, welding, painting, baking cakes or cook. My mom taught me how to do embroidery at the age of four and I guess that was the starting point. I’ve been doing different kinds of crafting ever since. I began my journey into scrapbooking late 2007 and I’m still enjoying the ride. For me, the beauty of scrapbooking is to be able to combine so many types of crafting techniques along with the opportunities to always learn more yet never be fully trained.

My layouts are mainly themed around travelling since that is what I do a lot. Nowadays they also include Joel. I also enjoy altering and sometimes a card slips through. Creativity, inspiration, and having fun is what matters most to me in the scrapbooking world. I usually scrap shabby chic/vintage style, however I love to create whatever comes to mind, so I like to throw in something unexpected once in a while. I am a true paper addict, even though I can’t live without my distress ink pads.

I have made a number of guest spots and been on several design teams and online magazines during the years, but I “retired” when I started working as a Marketing Director for Maja Design. I am no longer working for them, but I scrap for my own pleasure.

In my sparetime I’m trying to work out as often as I can, but most time is spent on rebuilding our house and finding new exciting places in the world that I need to discover.

I really love animals and would like to have the house full of them, but for now our cat will do.
