Baby album for Andrée

My best friend had a baby a month ago. I created this album for her with Pion and Maja papers…andreeI’ve had this gorgeous 6×6 paper for so long now. It’s always been my plan to create a babyalbum out of it but I never got to it…andree_Close up. Flowers from Magnolia, Prima and Kaisercraft. Bling from Prima.andree2Room for some notes about weight etc to the left and for a photo to the right…andree3More photo and notes spaces… andree4As you can see I’ve used several different collections from both Pion and Maja. andree5I really love the baby tags…andree6Another yellow…andree7Next spread…andree8I like to connect the different spreads by borders that you can see from both sides or with folded tags like I’ve done with the page to the right.andree9And here you can see the rest of the tag on the last spread.

I hope you got inspired!

I’ve left Maja Design…

I know the word is spreading and I get questions… Yes it is true, I have left Maja… After 2 ½ years I figured I needed to move on. I will of course continue using their beautiful papers, but also others. My guess is that I will start crafting more again now that I’ve left and have more time. So I hope you continue to stop by from time to time. The door is open.

Mood Board April

Yesterday I wrote my very last Maja Design posting since I will be leaving the company the 13th. It’s been a fun ride, but it’s time for me to move on. So here’s my very last Mood Board contribution…Jenny_GrotherusI have used lots of textures, bricks, torn egdes etc as the mb suggests.Jenny_Grotherus4I have used white texture paste and different colours of texturez by shimmerz for the background. The grungeboard die cut has been embossed, painted, sprayed and distressed. Borders by Martha Stewart and Tim Holtz. Metal and rub on by Tim Holtz.Jenny_Grotherus3

Nestabilities dies, Tim Holtz dies, Martha Stewart punches etc…Jenny_Grotherus2Some layers and die cuts…And here’s the Mood Board. Don’t forget to play along!

Birthday card

My niece is celebrating her 10th birthday this weekend. A huge step for a little beautiful lady. I created this birthday card for her and I hope she will like it.josephineI have used a combination of Vintage Summer Basics, Vintage Autumn Basics and Ska Vi Ta En Fika for this card. The papers are so beautiful themselves so you really don’t need much to create an eyecatcher. josephine_detailThe die cuts have been created with Spellbinders Romantic Rose set and the butterfly with a die from Bo Bunny. Ribbon from Elena (thanks sweetie) and a LSS. I have always preferred to use Pearl Pens instead of Liquid Pearls since I find it easier to created pearls with them.

I hope you will enjoy your Easter weekend!

Easter card

I have tons and tons of finished creations that I haven’t had time to photograph. I have at least three baby albums, two layouts, a couple of baby shoes and this Easter card.volvoI created this card using papers by Pion Design. The entire card has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist Chalkboard Chalk so it glimmers. I have used different kinds of Nestabilities dies, tape by Tim Holtz, flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts.
volvo2And here’s the tag that’s inside the card.Jenny

March Mood Board inspirational project

It’s Mood Board time again…
and here’s what I came up with…
JennyGrotherusI have used the feminine side of the Mood Board when scrapping one of my pregnancy photos. The borders have been created with Borderabilities dies by Spellbinders. Kind of handy when you only have stripes of papers left. :) All papers from Vintage Summer Basics.Journey_closeI have used a home made stencil for the textures and then stamped randomly with four different Tim Holtz stamps. Bling from Prima, Inkido and Zva Creative. Flowers by Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and Re-Collections. Metal by Finnabair (Prima). Chipboard from ScrapFX.Journey_close2Another little close up. The cute elephant is from Websters Pages.

So don’t miss the opportunity to win a Maja collection of your own choice… Hop over to the Maja blog and join the fun!Jenny

Blue therapy part II

So here’s my second “blue therapy” project.byraI have used Pion Design’s Siri’s Kitchen to alter this mini chest by Kaisercraft. byra2I wanted to keep it clean since I will use this chest for my necklaces. The papers are so beautiful so they speak for themselves. Flowers and resin by Prima.byra3The lid…byra4And the inside…

I hope you got inspired!Jenny

Blue therapy

I really gave it all with the Mood Board this time. Not that it was a difficult Mood Board, but I had promised myself not to go for the blues or browns but use PINK instead. Fear oh fear. I was joking with the Creative Team that I will be needing blue therapy for a month now so here it starts. 😉joel_blaI have used blue papers from Vintage Autumn Basics in combo with some white cardstock. joel_bla2I have used texture paste that I have sprayed with Color Shine by Heidi Swapp. I have also used blue Texturez by Shimmerz. The chippie has been painted with Heavy Gesso (Liquitex) and stamped with one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamps Holly. I know, it’s a Christmas stamp, but who cares. 😉 All embellies by Prima.joel_bla3A little background close up. The number stamp is from Prima and I’ve used a white stamp pad to make it shine through on the blue paper…Jenny

More Mood Board inspiration

My beloved friend Elena Olinevich game me this fab acryllic album from Clear Scraps that I had to use.JennyGrotherus2I really love Clear Scraps but unfortunately I haven’t found a retailer in Sweden. If anyone knows a store that carries them, please let me know.

I have used the Maja Design collection Nyhavn (that this months Mood Board also is based upon) for this album. Ever since I was a little girl I had the idea of going to Paris for my honeymoon. I have refused a number of Paris trips before I got married since I saved it, but in the end we went to Tanzania instead. But. When we celebrated our anniversary a couple of years ago we finally went there…

All flowers used in the album are by Prima or Wild Orchid Crafts. Shabby chic embellies from Prima, metal by Prima or Websters Pages (key to the right). Bling from Zva Creative and Prima. That being said, let’s have a look

The beauty of a sea through album is that you can see the papers from both sides… paris2I have torn a paper in two and left half of the page without paper so you can see the next page. I have added some paints to it and stamped with orange archival ink on the acryllic page. As you can see to the left of the photo of me I have stamped the acryllic with text in French using white ink.paris4Here’s what it looks like fully open. paris3I always put my coffee cups absolutely everywhere so I couldn’t resist adding one to the stove. :) This background paper is my favourite from the Nyhavn collection. I really love the colours of the houses. Absolutely beautiful.

So this is it about our romantic weekend in Paris. I have used the February Mood Board for this album…Moodboard-February15To play along with the February Mood Board, please visit the Maja Design blogJenny

February Mood Board

So it’s Mood Board time on the Maja blog again. Here’s one of my two takes on this months gorgeous Valentine mb JennyGrotherusThis is me and hubby when we got married almost nine years ago. Well. Time do past fast. I have used Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics and Vintage Spring Basics for this layout.

Pink is never my first choice of colour and I worked really hard not to make this a blue or brown one but the colours just came sneaking in no matter what I did. LOL. feb3The lovely lace was a bargain I made at a LSS. Flowers by Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts. The medallion and the metallic embellishments are from Webster’s Pages. Bling by Prima. Tulle from Stoff och Stil.   feb1My beloved wedding pearls. Ha ha. I think I use them everywhere…. The love letter from the mood board is represented by this little letter on the flower. Neat. :) Circular punch from Fiskars. feb2I’ve gone wild with Inka Gold on this one. Ha ha. Golden lady. 😉 I have used a mild gold colour and a green one. Shabby chic treasure by Prima, roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. Bling from LSS.feb4I have used some of the lyric lines from the Mood Board on a piece of see through vellumpaper. Frame from ScrapFX.  I have also added texture as the mood board says and added Inka gold to it afterwards. The gold textures is visible through the vellumpaper, gives it a nice effect.

And here’s the board for you to play with…. inspired by the beautiful Nyhavn collection.Moodboard-February15 So stop by the Maja blog for your chance to win a Maja collection of your own choice!Jenny
