Favourites from 2014-the good stuff ;)

So I have saved the best stuff for last as I usually do. I don’t think I can recall that I have created so few altered items and so many mini-albums like I did during 2014. I have picked up my three favourite albums and one otp project. I hope you’ll like it. :)elena1 elena3

For a very special friend
I created this Sofiero album for a girly friend of mine who loves pink. It took me ages to strain each page but I got there in the end. To see all the pages, please visit the orginal blog post.

Joels first summer
I created the covers for this album a couple of years ago, but left it there. Then Joel came and I decided to use them for his first summer album. I had lots of fun creating this album. To see all pages, please visit the original blog post.
jul1jul5My first Christmas
I bought this fab chipboard album at a tradeshow a couple of years ago. I absolutely adore all the details they have put into it. So I created Joel’s first Christmas album out of it. I really love the front page with it’s window out of gelatin where he peeks out. To see all the pages, visit the orginal blog postEaster decoration
My final project is an Easter decoration that I created for the April Mood Board. I used a bunch of boxes and some Easter decorations that my cat had not yet managed to slaughter. To see close up’s and details, please visit the original posting.

So this is it… I am closing the door to 2014 and am looking forward to an exciting 2015. You never know what future will bring. I hope you will continue sharing my creative journey. Wishing you all the best.Jenny

So much to do, so little time…

I got my hands on the new April Mood Board a couple of days ago and thought I’d try to create something for it… But my schedule is basically booked 24 hours a day, so I’m not sure I’m going to make it.

Anyways. Thought I’d share a little sneak peek with you… :)April_peak

The Mood Board will be revealed April 5th, so don’t miss it.

Wafle day in Sweden on Tuesday… Equals full house of friends in my place. Can’t wait. Jenny

Favourites from 2013… the fun stuff.:)

It’s not that layouts and cards are the boring stuff… but I’ve always been a sucker for altered projects and stuff. I haven’t done that many this year, still I thought it impossible to just pick three. So here are… four.

Altered wine holder
I altered this wine holder for my sister’s 10th anniversary. It was SOOO much fun to make. We had just released the very limited Sofiero collection and we were still not aware of the massive positive response we got from it. It turned out to be a huge hit and for the first time I found myself running out of papers with no possibility to get more! I was just as panicked as everybody else, I can assure you that. :)

I was so anxious to get my hands on Vintage Autumn Basics when it was released it was unbelievable. I drove to the office Friday night just to get some sheets that were picked up just to satisfy my greedy hands. :) They were so fresh I had a heavy stink of paint in my livingroom that evening. I had promised Marie to let them dry, but 7 AM Saturday morning I was already out of five different papers, even though I had grabbed three of each. :) This hot air balloon was my first creation.
I created this baby album for Joel. It includes his first months with journaling and photos. Since he is an autumn boy it’s all made with autumn colours. If you read the posting you can see the pages within. I’m still using it and documenting his life.
I’ve had this ATC tray for years. I bought it with our wedding in mind, but I just couldn’t find any suitable papers for it. When Vintage Autumn Basics was released I knew what papers to use. So my wedding tray turned out to be… pink! Mark my words, I was shocked myself. 😉 But I actually like how it turned out.
So. This concludes this year. I am so grateful and proud that my very faithful readers have stayed with me this year. I know I haven’t been around as much as I usually am due to several hospital treatments and a painful pregnancy. I am very touched that you, and many newcomers, have chosen to stick around and shared this year with me. I wish you all the best and a very happy new year.

Door hanger for Joel

I found this wooden door hanger on a trade show about five years ago. I bought it for our child to be, but the years went on… Now he’s finally here and this is how it turned out.

I guess I need to create stuff like this before he’s old enough to find it all embarrassing. :) I’ve used my old time favourite Fika for this project.
The fairy is from the Nature Garden collection by Prima. The gorgeous trim by Websters Pages also matches the Fika collection. I’ve used some Distress Ink on the paper to give it a shade of green.

Wedding frame-Mood Board October

I just love to alter ATC trays. I think they are so much fun. I’ve had this one for quite some time now, but couldn’t really find any papers that I thought went along with our wedding. Until Marie showed me the pinks and greens from the new Vintage Autumn Basics collection…

Our wedding had a carefully selected green and white colour scheme, with my dark purple calla lilies as accent. The wedding was held at a large house by the river with it’s surrounding park-like garden. The house was built by one of the industrial magnates of my hometown so it’s very representative with it’s dark wooden panels, heavy curtains and woven pink tapestry. It’s not the kind of atmosphere you toss in just any colours or patterns. Both regarding scrapbooking papers and colour scheme for the wedding. That’s why the tray has been on hold for so long…

Hubby with his umbrella in the park.

The vials have been filled up with microbeads, paperroll, lace and roses. Funny thing we didn’t have a single rose on our wedding. Only calla lilies and my favourite hydrangeas from my mom’s garden. She gave me that enormous hydrangea bush for our garden when we bought our house.

More roses and beautiful papers. The striped ones reminds me of that house.

I cut my favourite photo in half and put it in two compartments…

I love the shabby frames by Prima. They make such nice decoration…

I’m so much taller then hubby so I just couldn’t resist wrap him in my skirt. This photo was taken a couple of minutes after the ceremony. I’ve added embellies in and outside the compartments to get a more 3D look.

My Garden, altered wineholder and anniversary card-Maja Design Mood Board August

Follow on Bloglovin

This months Mood Board is absolutely stunning. Based on the Sofiero collection with it’s mild colours… and my garden photo! :)

I shot this photo with my Iphone, just to send it to a friend. But Marie liked it when she saw it and here it is… It’s on the Sofiero label as well. So here’s my take on this months Mood Board. Of course I had to use the original photo. 😉

I’ve had so much fun with this Mood Board, even though pink isn’t really my colour. I’ve gone berserk with paint, but I actually let the pink remain this time. No black spray paint what so ever. :)

I’ve added a lot of white paint to the roses I’ve used. They were a bit too much for me I think. I’ve had the huge Melissa Frances rose in a drawer for years. Now it came handy, just some white gesso on it.

The doily got stamped with one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamps from the papillon collection. I’ve used diffrerent colours of Distress Ink on it. I’ve used gesso and texture paste on the background, together with coloured acryllic paint of various kind. I’ve also added different Glimmer Glams, Distress Stickles and Glimmer Mists to make it shine a bit.

And here I’ve also used Distress Ink refillers on the background. Love the dimension that Tissue Tape adds. Note that you can see the stamped text through the Film Strip.

I will give you a supply list for all projects later on this posting…

My next two projects are an anniversary present. My sister Britt has been married for ten years to Kjell and I thought that could be worth celebrating. It took them about ten-fifteen years to get married (she eventually had to pop the question herself) so their anniversaries are kind of special to them. I altered a wineholder for them…

Here’s the backside of it. Got to say that this was one of the most funniest things I’ve altered in years. I’m no pinkie, but gosh I love this one. :)

My sister is really going to love this. She loves stuff with lacing, she’s got tons in her wardrobe.

From the other side…

And finally the lid. And here comes a card to go with it…

You may remember that I made a similar anniversary card last year. This time I’ve made the skirt stand out more like a crionline. You can do that with Maja papers since they are so sturdy… I’ve once again used Gabi’s template for the dress since I’m totally useless with drawing myself. Thanks hon, you really make my days easier on me. :)

So what are you waiting for… Hurry over to the Maja blog to see the full details of this challenge. You can win a collection of your own choice!

Maja Design Christmas In July challenge!

Follow on Bloglovin

What could possibly be better then to step inside from the heat and create some Christmas cards to ease the load in November? We are now having a challenge over at Maja Design where you can win ALL Christmas collections carried in stock! We are talking about FOUR collections. Or 72 papers in total.

All information could be found on today’s blog posting at Maja.
Here’s my inspirational creations for this challenge…

This is Osiris looking out our dining room window, chasing snow flurries. He truely loves that window and has been sitting by it every day since we moved in. I have used my favourite Christmas collection by Maja for this layout, Gammaldags Jul. I never get tired of the classic colours and patterns.

Some bling, flowers and texture paste. I have mounted the middle section on 3D foam to be able to put flowers under it.

I’ve also created a mailbox for Christmas cards. This one holds up to 6×6 cards so it’s quite useful. I have used the It’s Christmas Time collection.

I cut out poinsettias with my Gazelle. The smaller ones are 1″, the larger ones are 1.5″. Those are the days when you wish you had smaller hands…

The lid…

I will name what products have been used later down this posting. First I would just like to post some other Maja Christmas inspiration, even if they were not made for this particular challenge…
