Birthday card

My niece is celebrating her 10th birthday this weekend. A huge step for a little beautiful lady. I created this birthday card for her and I hope she will like it.josephineI have used a combination of Vintage Summer Basics, Vintage Autumn Basics and Ska Vi Ta En Fika for this card. The papers are so beautiful themselves so you really don’t need much to create an eyecatcher. josephine_detailThe die cuts have been created with Spellbinders Romantic Rose set and the butterfly with a die from Bo Bunny. Ribbon from Elena (thanks sweetie) and a LSS. I have always preferred to use Pearl Pens instead of Liquid Pearls since I find it easier to created pearls with them.

I hope you will enjoy your Easter weekend!

Easter card

I have tons and tons of finished creations that I haven’t had time to photograph. I have at least three baby albums, two layouts, a couple of baby shoes and this Easter card.volvoI created this card using papers by Pion Design. The entire card has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist Chalkboard Chalk so it glimmers. I have used different kinds of Nestabilities dies, tape by Tim Holtz, flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts.

Favourites from 2014-cards

My card year started out very uninspired. To be honest-the cards were not any good at all. But then I started decorating the inside of the cards again and it got me in the right spirit. I think the second half of the year became rather good. So here’s what my favourites looks like.kaffeDo you want some coffee or not?
I never get sick of the Fika collection. I must have used it a dozen times by now. This card was created for a friend who always says that he should come by for a coffee but never does. So this was a gentle reminder. :) You can see the inside on the blog post.

angelaWedding card
One of my best friends in the US got married this summer. I created this card for them, but unfortunately it never made it during the postage. Such a shame. :( Click the link to see the decorated inside. tackThank you card
We have a couple of storing shelves in a dark corner of our Maja office. There you can find real treats like old collections that are no longer being sold. One of my early favourites were the Mina Vänner collection that came in four different colours. These papers came from Paula.

elenaFor a very special friend
A dear friend of mine showed up and I created this card for her, together with a mini-album. I kind of liked how it turned out. joelJoel’s birthday card
My little baby turned one in October. How about that. He got his own card with his very own mirror.

Next time I will share my favourite mini-albums and altered items from 2014.

Until then!

Walk with me daddy plus some extras…

I created a special card for Johan’s first Father’s Day last year. This layout continues the journey…walk

I shot this photo of Johan and Joel while Joel was very ill and went in and out of hospital last year. I’ve used the same poem for this layout as I used on the card. Freely translated it goes like this…

Walk with me daddy
Hold my hand while we’re walking
There’s so much I want to learn
And so much I don’t understand
Teach me how to avoid all the danger every day
Teach me to always do my best
And be happy for who I am
Every child needs a loving hand
So they can have support and security
Come and hold my hand daddy
We have a long way to walk
I have used Sofiero and Vintage Summer Basics scraps for this layout…walk2All flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. Chipboard from Scrap FX, pearls from Michael’s. Lace from LSS.walk4I have used a stripe from one of the Sofiero papers for this beautiful Tim Holtz frame (painted with ordinary white gesso). walk3
The acryllic frame is from Prima, doily by Wild Orchid Crafts. I’ve used scraps from Sofiero and Vintage Summer Basics to create the little circles. I’ve used Ingvild Bolme chalks and Distress Ink to stamp sewing patterns on them and the larger background scraps.
And here’s what the old Father’s Day card looked like last year, created with the wonderful Vintage Autumn Basics collection…FathersDay1

fathersday5 FathersDay8I also made a little gift box to go along with it…fathersday_box fathersday_box2I have also got a Christmas layout to share with you today, created with A Gift For You…sentwithloveThis photo was shot of Joel on Christmas Eve last year. He was so tiny. Just two months old and very sick…sentwithlove2I have used a little hanger (7Gypsies) to put ribbon on it. Dies from Spellbinders, punches by Martha Stewart. Flowers from Prima, chipboard from ScrapFX. sentwithlove3

I love to use stripes and die cuts from the various Maja collections. They really bring something extra.
I hope you all got inspired. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Joel’s birthday card

I have SO many projects that I haven’t had the time to photograph or write about… Here’s one of them. Sweet little Joel’s first birthday card…
joelI have used the Vintage Summer Basics and Coffee In The Arbour collection by Maja Design. Joel absolutely love mirrors so I created a little mirror for him using a Tim Holtz product and a frame from Webster’s Pages. Decorations from Wild Orchid Crafts, stamp by Inkido. Doily die is from Prima.
joel2The backside… All other dies are from Spellbinders. Jenny

Sometimes I do feel privileged working at Maja… Like being able to get my hands on collections that are no longer in print. Sometimes you can find some goodies at a shelf we have in a dark corner in our office. Here’s a thank you card created with one of my favourite collections Mina Vänner…tackThe Mina Vänner (My Friends) collection came in four different colour schemes and were named after Marie’s best friends. One colour scheme for each. I have used the Paula series that I like the best…

Dies by Spellbinders and Tim Holtz, flowers and ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day. :)Jenny

Christmas card

Here’s a very red card I created with the new A Gift For You for a Christmas card challenge. It was supposed to contain at least 50% red so this one is more red then my cards usually are. Funny thing, I think my card was the least red of them all. :)JennyGrotherusI have once again used the 6×6 pad and had fun with Spellbinders and Prima dies. I hope you got inspired.Jenny
