Leftover card

Isn’t it quite weird… scrapbooking is supposed to be based on scraps. But what do we do? We buy expensive supplies wherever and whenever we can. I am no exception and being a honorary member of the Anonymous Paperaddicts I’ve got TONS of paper leftovers. Sometimes I try to use them up, but no matter how much I use them the pile is just as large. So here’s a card based on… scraps.melissa_frances I got these cute Melissa Frances papers from one of my previous design teams years ago. They are quite lovely, but still I haven’t used them all. The cardstock are all leftovers as well. The lace was the last piece of a beautiful lace I found in a neighbour town years ago. The heart pin was the only one left that wasn’t bleached. Curious since I have stored them in a box in a cabinet. All supplies are obviously not top quality… 😉

I so envy Gabi and Nancy who can just take a pair of scissor and cut out just about anything. I can’t draw a thing and definitely not use scissors. So the sewing machine and heart has been cut out by my Gazelle.

The rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts, doily by Wilton and buttons from LSS. Ink delivered by the unmistakable Mr Holtz.

Favourites from 2013… cards

The time has come to pick my favourite cards of the year. My absolute top favourite was a very easy one…

This was hubbys first Father’s Day card. I think it’s my all time favourite of all the cards I’ve made through the years.
My second favourite is a get well card I made for a friend who is very sick.
The third one is a very simple Christmas card. Not that fancy or advanced, but I truely like the simplicity and the colours.

Christmas bauble card

I made a bunch of Christmas bauble cards a couple of years ago. They were quite fun to make so I thought I’d make another one.

I’ve created the pattern on the background with a Sakura pen and a mask from Tattered Angels. I’ve also used Liquid Pearls and bling.
Isn’t this image the sweetest? I cut it out from a tag on the die cut sheet.

Look it’s snowing

I’m totally in love with the 1st of December sheet. Here’s another card based on the sentiment printed on the background.

I created the fluffy snowflakes by using a snowflake punch on ordinary felt. I was inspired by how Ivana used the die cut sheet for one of her cards and thought I’d try something similar.

Vintage Frost Basics Christmas card

Here’s my third Christmas card with this lovely collection…

I’ve used my favourite sheet 1st of December for this card. It is so beautiful. I think the images on the die cut sheet are absolutely adorable too.

And what’s best. Since this is a basics collection and not a pure Christmas collection it will be available for years to come.

A pink Christmas card- new Vintage Frost Basics

I never thought I would create a pink Christmas card. But my first Christmas card with the new Vintage Frost Basics collection turned out to be… pink.

Marie talked a lot about that phrase “Surrounded by Angels” when she drew this collection and I thought it sounded so beautiful. So my first card was inspired by those lovely lines.

Father’s Day

Last Sunday was Father’s Day in Sweden and hubby was celebrating his first one. I thought I’d try to make it a special one for him.

When I first saw the Vintage Autumn Basics collection I just knew which papers I wanted to use for Father’s Day. The blue ones are absolutely perfect. The chipboard gates makes this card a bit special…
You can see through the gates and spot the card. I’ve used the gorgeous stripes from one of the papers as ribbon on the gates. The rings from 7Gypsies are such good quality and I love the finish.
Roses, roses… I just couldn’t help it. I’m not good at buying flowers for men, feels weird somehow. But he got several made out of paper. :)
You’ve got to have a lock on a gate and who does it better then Tim Holtz…
The inside of the card.
Just LOVE this paper. Marie at her best.
The middle part has been folded and the mini hanger has been used as a clip…
… and when you remove the clip there’s a poem inside that reads… (freely translated)
Walk with me daddy
Hold my hand while we’re walking
There’s so much I want to learn
And so much I don’t understand
Teach me how to avoid all the danger every day
Teach me to always do my best
And be happy for who I am
Every child needs a loving hand
So they can have support and security
Come and hold my hand daddy
We have a long way to walk
He also got a little box made out of cardboard, paint and scrap papers…
I’m in love with those golden leaves… They are so pretty. :) And inside the box you could find the following necklace…
It says “Beloved Joel” and has Joel’s birthdate engraved on the backside.
I hope you got inspired! I received my package of the new Vintage Frost Basics yesterday, so don’t forget to stop by later on… I totally freaked out when I saw it. That collection is GOLD and I can’t wait to start using it.

Some quick Christmas cards

When you have a baby around there simply isn’t that much time to create some spectacular Christmas cards. Here are a couple of quick ones that you can finish during a lunch break. All using the wonderful Waiting For Santa collection by Webster’s Pages…

I’ve mixed several dies with a Martha Stewart punch, some texture paste and liquid pearls.

As simple as can be. I’ve just cut out the hot air balloon and attached it with 3D foam to the other patterned paper that has been machine stitched.
