From Santa With Love

I really have a thing with the reds of the latest Christmas collection A Gift For You. I have used my favourite papers on this layout with Joel, I hope you’ll like it. fromsantaJoel was extremely fragile when I shot this photo. Our cat was heavy compared to him and he was approaching his birth weight very fast. We were so lucky to stay out of hospital on Christmas Eve. It was our goal that he was going to spend his first Christmas at home and I am so happy that he managed to. He’s a little fighter and is all well today. fromsanta3 I have used chipboard from ScrapFX, punch from Martha Stewart and a die from Spellbinders. I really love the frame on that pattern so I’ve used it a lot.fromsanta2Flowers and doily die by Prima. I have used the following sheets…

As you may have heard from Elena Olinevich my house is very white… Or at least cream. I shot this selfie of me and Joel while we were wearing white and I got the idea to create a layout inspired by my house. Just like Elena did…

bliss_I have used a combination of A Gift For You and Vintage Summer Basics. I have used vellum paper and cardstock to build up the photo. bliss_2I have lots of cream, white and browns in my house. The wallpapers in my livingroom is a little bit too much Vintage Summer Basics. Hubby got nuts when he found out. I dress like Maja collections and now I put it on the walls too… Decorations from Prima and Tim Holtz. The texture paste on the background has been applied with a home made stencil.

Walk with me daddy plus some extras…

I created a special card for Johan’s first Father’s Day last year. This layout continues the journey…walk

I shot this photo of Johan and Joel while Joel was very ill and went in and out of hospital last year. I’ve used the same poem for this layout as I used on the card. Freely translated it goes like this…

Walk with me daddy
Hold my hand while we’re walking
There’s so much I want to learn
And so much I don’t understand
Teach me how to avoid all the danger every day
Teach me to always do my best
And be happy for who I am
Every child needs a loving hand
So they can have support and security
Come and hold my hand daddy
We have a long way to walk
I have used Sofiero and Vintage Summer Basics scraps for this layout…walk2All flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. Chipboard from Scrap FX, pearls from Michael’s. Lace from LSS.walk4I have used a stripe from one of the Sofiero papers for this beautiful Tim Holtz frame (painted with ordinary white gesso). walk3
The acryllic frame is from Prima, doily by Wild Orchid Crafts. I’ve used scraps from Sofiero and Vintage Summer Basics to create the little circles. I’ve used Ingvild Bolme chalks and Distress Ink to stamp sewing patterns on them and the larger background scraps.
And here’s what the old Father’s Day card looked like last year, created with the wonderful Vintage Autumn Basics collection…FathersDay1

He was so tiny. Just two months old and very sick…sentwithlove2I have used a little hanger (7Gypsies) to put ribbon on it. Dies from Spellbinders, punches by Martha Stewart. Flowers from Prima, chipboard from ScrapFX. sentwithlove3

I love to use stripes and die cuts from the various Maja collections. They really bring something extra.
I hope you all got inspired. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Grandma and me

I shot this photo of Joel and his grandma and thought I’d make a framed layout out of it.grandma_I have used the lovely Vintage Spring Basics and LIfe By The Sea for this layout. grandma4_
I have used dies from Tim Holtz/Sizzix and Prima flowers. Bling from Zva Creative, punch from Martha Stewart, frame die from Nestabilities, chipboard frame from Scrap FX. A beautiful autumn day

I am a pure autumn girl. I love when the darkness falls, there’s a chill in the wind and the leaves are changing colour. There’s nothing better then crawl up in the sofa in front of the fireplace with some hot chocolate. autumn_
I have used the wonderful Walking In The Forest collection for this photo. I remember I ran in the woods while Marie was drawing it and I texted her “rowanberries. We need rowanberries.” She answered “I already have :)” Then I knew that this collection was going to be fantastic. autumn5_
I love all the beautiful cut out details in this collection. I have used the envelope on the die cut sheet here together with Prima embellishments. autumn4_
I love this branch that goes so well with the Walking In The Forest collection. The resins are perfect for it as well. The butterfly stripe is from one of the sheets in the collection.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday…Jenny

Join me for a coffee?

I’m nuts about coffee. I really am. If I had a dollar for every cup I’m drinking I would be VERY rich. For those who know me it doesn’t come as a surprise that Fika is my all time favourite Maja collection. So when we released the Coffee In The Arbour collection this spring I had to restrain myself before going coffee crazy with it. But I eventually did. Here’s a coffee layout, freshly brewed.joinmeI shot this photo while having coffee with Marie at Lejas Café while we planned our trip to CHA. That was one exciting evening. I have used four different Distress Ink’s on the left side (Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone, Gathered Twigs and Frayed Burlap) to make it more alive.
joinme2A bit of Texture Paste for dimension in combination with flowers from Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and Magnolia. All background stamps by Tim Holtz, bling from Prima.
joinme3All chipboard by Scrap FX. This one has been covered with Distress Embossing Powder Dusty Concord. Resin and background masks by Prima.

I have used the following papers from the Coffee In The Arbour collection…
Grandma’s Old Porcelain
Smell of Freshly Brewed Coffee

Classes with Elena Olinevich

Good morning folks! In late August I had the privilege of meeting our own Elena Olinevich. We had so much fun. We had dinner with Marie, swam in papers in our warehouse, had some sightseeing and. Elena held classes and I attended two of them. Her classes are so personal, often with smaller groups to get the intimate feeling and be able to help everybody out.

So I thought I’d share the creations I made during her classes. elena3The first class I took was a canvas class where Elena taught different mixed media techniques. elena4We used the romantic Crea Diem collection in combination with Prima embellishments and different mediums.
elena2Here’s a final close up where you can see the background work.CanvasClassAnd here’s the class I took…

The next class Elena was holding was my favourite. We all got to choose whatever papers we wanted to use. Since there are so many Maja collections we all came up with papers from different collections. I don’t think I saw anyone picking the same papers, so all the albums were so different from each other. We also got embellishments depending on what papers we had chosen. I chose to use papers from the Life In The Country and Life By The Sea collections.
1_We used a lot of acryllics for the mini-album. I really loved that. They became new favourites of mine. 2Try to repeat that if you can. 😉3We used lots of different dies and mediums…
5Elena really showed us the use of acryllic albums and embellishments.6Elena uses the acryllic sheets to make the album see through. Since I love to follow my albums from page to page I think this is a fantastic way to make it more visible.
7And here you can see though the next page to see the previous one.

And here’s the page you saw through the acryllic before.9I really love this face…

And finally. Joel with his beloved IKEA jars…

Thanks

Sometimes I do feel privileged working at Maja… Like being able to get my hands on collections that are no longer in print. Sometimes you can find some goodies at a shelf we have in a dark corner in our office. Here’s a thank you card created with one of my favourite collections Mina Vänner…tackThe Mina Vänner (My Friends) collection came in four different colour schemes and were named after Marie’s best friends. One colour scheme for each. I have used the Paula series that I like the best…

Dies by Spellbinders and Tim Holtz, flowers and ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day. :)Jenny

Christmas card

Here’s a very red card I created with the new A Gift For You for a Christmas card challenge. It was supposed to contain at least 50% red so this one is more red then my cards usually are. Funny thing, I think my card was the least red of them all. :)JennyGrotherusI have once again used the 6×6 pad and had fun with Spellbinders and Prima dies. I hope you got inspired.Jenny
