Ups. Sorry. A bit behind everybody else, but I found a really nice tag from Tim Holtz’s 12 tags of 2013 that I thought I’d try…
I had a horrible traffic all way back home from work today, leaving me with a serious headache. So what could be better medicine then just mess up my newly fixed nails with some paint…
I have used tons of Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glam, Distress Stains, Distress Ink etc. A lot of fun and a lot of mess.
The roses used to be pink, but black spray solves all kinds of problems. He he.
I have used a quote by John Donne, an English poet who lived in the 1500’s. The quote says
You can still see the patterned paper through the ink. Lots of beautiful maple leaves…

Hubby went to pick up our mail and came back with an envelope posted in the US. It turned out that sweet Rochelle, who won the Vintage Summer Basics giveaway, had sent me the cutest tag.
Isn’t she a darling? The embossing doesn’t show on photo, but it’s really cool. Reflects in different colours.
Thank you so much Rochelle, I really appreciate it.
Like I told you the other day I dragged out my Distress Stains and just let my hands work around by themselves without any deeper thoughts. Really releasing and these are the second and third I came up with…
I sprayed the tags with water to make the colours blend, then I just dotted them on. I also sprayed them with some Chalkboard afterwards.

I saw a photo somewhere where somebody clever had used scraps to make beautiful bookmarks. Whoever you are, thanks for the idea… Here’s my little version
I have used different paper scraps from the Fika collection, together with Nestabilities ovals and scalloped ovals. I have also used a punch around the page set from Martha Stewart called Cherish.
The cute vintage image is from Pion Design. You can make a bookmark like this in notime, make your scraps usable and get a beautiful homemade gift for someone special…
The Tim Holtz stamp says “What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day in your life for it”. Text has been embossed with white embossingpowder.
Today I’m posting FOUR creations from the brand new Vintage Summer Basics by Maja Design. Marie has done an amazing job creating this new collection. As usual it’s very versatile and comes in several different colour schemes so there’s something for everybody.
The postman delivered them just in time for the Easter holidays, so I have been totally soaked in Vintage Summer Basics this weekend.
I surprised myself by falling in love with the pink papers! I’m pretty good at falling in love with beautiful papers, but I don’t remember ever liking pink papers this much.
All papers in this posting are from the Vintage Summer Basics collection and have all been distressed with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I will only name the papers used.
Those of you who visited my blog yesterday and saw the sneak peeks know that I’ll be sharing one tag, one card, one box with drawers and one layout today.
So, let’s start out with the layout…
I took this photo in the small village of Andahuaylillas in Peru. The village was a real treat. Birds were singing, the farmers were sitting on benches resting after a hard days work. It was like the time had stopped.
The pink background paper is called 1922. I have used the Martha Stewart Double Arches Punch Around The Page set for the 1921 paper and handstitched it.
Time letters has been cut out with my Gazelle, paper Memories. I have used the Weathered Clock die by Tim Holtz/Sizzix for the clock (paper 1922). The butterfly has been cut out with the same paper using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added some Distress Stickles Rock Candy to make it sparkle. Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The vintage couple has been cut out from the 1926 paper. The wrinkled border is from 1922. So is the floral paper that has been cut out with the Swirling Lace punches (Martha Stewart). The paper with text on is called 1891 and has been punched with the Cherish punches, also by Martha Stewart.
The photo mat has been cut from the 1933 paper. I have used the Memories paper for the tag and the punched brown border (Martha Stewart). White small windows from Prima’s Architecture collection. Clock face and spinners by Tim Holtz. Pink rose by Prima, white roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, pink flowers from Recollections.
The next creation is a tag that I just had to make when I saw this gorgeous paper…
I have cut out the tag with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die called Tag And Bookplates. I used 1935 for the tag and 1934 for the circles.
The punched paper (Floral Vine punch by Martha Stewart) is 1934 as well. I have painted it with white Gesso to make it a bit lighter.
The third creation is a box with four drawers that I made for my hubby as an eastern present.
I used 1915 for the top and the bottom. I love how sturdy Maja papers are. They are such high quality so you can use them for making boxes and other things that papers from a lot of other brands can’t.
I used the Cherish Punch Around the Page set by Martha Stewart. Flowers from Magnolia and Wild Orchid Crafts. Bling from Prima, pearls made with Pearl Maker Amber. The vintage image and lined paper from the Memories paper.
Just a close-up…
The base is made out of one patterned paper, 1933.
I have cut out the Vintage image (from the Memories paper) using a Nestabilities die (labels seventeen). Background from 1935. All flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Pearls from Michaels.
I used the labels seventeen dies again to make the tag where I will write a greeting. I have used 1934 for the largest, 1925 for the middle and ordinary white cardstock for the smallest. I have stamped it with a Tim Holtz stamp using Distress Ink Iced Spruce.
I hope you all got inspired!
I’m posting four creations out of the new Vintage Summer Basics tomorrow. One tag, one card, one box with drawers and one layout! How about that…
Marie has done an amazing job creating this new collection. As usual it’s very versatile and comes in several different colour schemes so there’s something for everybody.
So today I’m going to post some sneak peeks to give you a little preview of this new fantastic collection.
From the layout….
From the tag…
From the box with drawers…
From the card…
So don’t forget to stop by tomorrow to see these creations in total. You will LOVE this new collection!
I just came back from sunny Florida, jetlaged and can’t sleep at night. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be around my scraphouse again. I’m just walking around it and savor in the creative atmosphere.
My x boyfriend once told me that the only time of year my fingers didn’t stink of garlic was when we were traveling. Rather interesting comment since my hubby usually calls me Mrs Vampire due to my large fangs.
My fingers have been rather clean lately so I thought I’d do something about it immediately. 😉
Before I left I spotted some Glimmer Mist with names so cool you just had to buy them. Who can resist “True Blood” and “Afraid of The Dark”? Especially if you are called Mrs Vampire. LOL.
I made this tags with the mentioned Glimmer Mists in combination with some Tattered Leather. I used a Tim Holtz embossing set called Clock and Steampunk set, misted the tag and then added some Gold Wax to the numbers and game-spinners.
The flowers are from Prima, lace and bling from Recollections.
My second tag, a frosty one…
I have used the same embossing folder set and have misted the tag with Silver, Frost and Slate. I have used Gold Wax Silver on the embossed areas. Tape, filmstrip and all metals by Tim Holtz. The stitches are a rub-on from Bo Bunny’s Country Garden collection. Tull from Michaels.
A close up on the embossed area.
Have a great day!
So… We’ve come to the good stuff! As a lot of you know I like to alter and try out a lot of techniques. I have tried so hard not to pick too many favourites, but this time I’m going to fail big time.
This must be the most fun I had regarding crafts during 2011. It was a pure joy to make.
DT work for The Flying Unicorn. I really like how this one turned out.
When life is a mess you really need to step back and think about what really matters to you. This tag pad is a way of reminding myself of what matters most to me.
I made this castle for my niece Josefine. Just had to try this one out.
This was my very first canvas and I had so much fun making it.
I made this shelf for my film loving hubby so he can display what movie he will be watching.
Another experiment that turned out quite nice.
Flag set for my BFF Angela.
Configuration box divided in two:
I thought it was a good idea to divide the box in two to make the fun last longer…
